Summer heat
Today was one of those days that we expect summer to be where it is almost so hot that we have to shelter, put extra sun cream, eat and drink lots of cold niceties and of course jump into the ocean. Strange things us humans:)
What it does for our wellbeing is undoubtedly something that we are all extremely grateful for and I was aware that people in general were wearing their colourful summer clothes and generally being more jolly and friendly than of late.
I dropped my poorly bike off at the bike shop for some wheel configuration and had a search for some camping gear for an upcoming adventure.
Off to Barnstaple for some administrative work regarding my future employment.
Back to Appledore where I had planned to take a cold water swim off the lifeboat slipway.
Eventually found a space to park and joined a lovely crowd of friends new and old for a wonderful evening in the Atlantic Ocean.
Banter was certainly on the agenda for everyone.
The swim was split into two parts by a shout for the lifeboat crew which ended well for all involved.
Having warmed up a saunter to The Beever Inn for a bowl of freshly made chips and some pleasant conversation with friends and holiday makers enjoying the last of the warmth and sounds of oyster catchers and curlew.
My hat was popular with the ladies again.
The first line is usually “ooh I love your hat”!
The rest just seems to develop naturally and always seems to end in laughter and a smile on everyone’s faces including everyone in the vicinity.
Martha the loveable Springer spaniel puppy was more interested in licking the salt from my face and hands, patience isn’t in her vocabulary just yet (if ever).
Thanks for your support here on blip and your kind words which are appreciated gratefully.
Have a lovely weekend and share your kindness with everyone around you.xx
