Arty Farty

Today whole volunteering at the palliative day care home.We are expected to be there around 8U30 AM. merley for the briefing, who s coming their health condition and so on. Normally we expected 6 visitors but only 4 came up. They show up around 9.30 Am and are brought by volunteers. We well come them , have a small talk with them and offer a drink. In between a litlle activity music or whatever, 11pm apetiser with small snack. Soup at 11.30 AM and then taking meal 12U30 pm. We sit with them ( also taking meal ) and were needed give assistence.After dinner there is time for siesta, some lay on the bed , others watch the news...In the afternoon around 2U30 pm coffee with dessert. As it was marvellous weather we sat outside in the garden. After that we took some  of our visitors in the wheelchair for a walk in the neigbourhood.Between 4 and 5 pm, they are taken home. Some of our visitors come twice a week some only once it depends. All of the visitors have a diagnose of being incurable.This whole organisations is based on 90 % volunteer work. It is a termendous job to organise everything. i am participating 2 days in the month and from next mont i will be visiting somebody once or twice at home. Sombedy who also visits the dat care center but likes to be taken out to his favourite pub.
Well in the evening i was invited by friends for a belated birthday dinner. They promised , for my birthday , to go out for dinner. So finally we did. We went to a llocal cafe restaurant were food ( authentic flemish food ) is fresh prepared . As i m mostly vegetarian , this time i made an exception and ordered" vol au vent". It was so tasty and plenty of for a good price (17 euro!). Ann,yway it was a great evening with laughter and i had to take an arty farty pic .
