Branklyn Gardens, Perth
We had a very interesting visit to Branklyn Gardens in Perth today.
First of all we went to Perth Museum to view Scotland's Stone of Destiny which has now been given a permanent home there. It is free entry but timed visits. We booked ourselves in and then had a snack in the very nice coffee shop. The lady who booked us in was from Texas, and Bob and she had a lively conversation. She said he had seen more of the United States than she had, and was particularly interested that we had been in the Outer Banks of N.Carolina, not sure why. The visit to see the Stone was interesting, but on the way out I commented that I was surprised that they didn't have a loop system for the hearing impaired, and she did say that a few people had commented on that and that she would pass it on. Bob made her laugh as he had at least ten suggestions for improvements to the exhibition! He really should run the country (he thinks).
We then drove to Branklyn Gardens and had a lovely afternoon wandering there. I took lots of pictures and decided a collage was the way forward. It was warm although not sunny, and we were able to sit for quite a while. After yet another coffee, we headed to the plant selling area, and needless to say we bought some!
Heading home we hit the rain at Dunblane, and it was quite heavy by the time we got home. I had made some potato salad and pulled some salad leaves before we left, so we had a nice meal with some cold meat which was ready in no time.
