Totem pole

Is it summer?! Very hot and sunny as we walked into Holmfirth for a late lunch at Beatties. We  just opted for sandwiches, but they were very tasty! 

Recently MrM discovered the path that is - allegedly - a shortcut from our house to the doctors' surgery. After we'd looked around in Holmfirth for a birthday present he offered to show me said path, and I agreed to go that way provided that there weren't likely to be nettles or mud along the way, as I wasn't dressed for a country walk. No, he said, there won't be anything like that. The moral of the tale is never trust MrM to give an accurate description of a walk! Mud, nettles, thistles and brambles in abundance...
