Sgwarnog: In the Field

Wrapped

As part of the current Osman Yosefzada exhibition at Cartwright Hall, he has wrapped the sculpture of Diana the Huntress that stands outside in Lister Park. The wrapping conveys a migrant’s wrapped bundle of possessions.

Today I was just walking through on my way to football at Campion, a little further up the hill in Manningham. Co. Durham team Crook Town were visiting for a pre-season friendly.  It was a well contested game, with Crook winning 1-0.

As it was a 12.30 kick-off I had a rare opportunity for a double-header, so after the first game I headed a couple of miles across the valley to Eccleshill United for a 3pm. Harrogate Railway were the opponents, and as in the first game secured a 1-0 away win.

None of the threatened thunder storms arrived.
