Life is a Challenge!

OUR LAST DAY

We had a great time of Worship and Communion on our last morning, enjoyed by everyone.  Nick talked about “Vision” - which was very appropriate in my case!

The children and adults loved it when he put on different pairs of glasses and said he could see various things depending on which glasses he was wearing! For instance, he said that with those that had dollar signs on them, he could tell how much was in our bank accounts! Of course it wasn’t true - but a scary thought nevertheless!

The top photograph shows Pete, looking suitably perplexed, wondering what the large derelict farm implement was that sits outside the dining room doors. I was a bit cheeky and said it would be good if he could stand next to it as “a derelict” standing next to dereliction - that wasn’t true either - but he was very obliging.

Mr. HCB told me that it wasn’t actually a plough as I thought it was, but a tiller - but obviously not a “Tiller Girl” - for those are old enough to remember them!

The second photograph is a text which is above the fireplace in the lounge quoting the words from 1 Corinthians 13 - the main one of which is ”LOVE”.

We were very close to where the Fairford International Air Tattoo was taking place, and although it was quite windy today at least we saw more of the planes then we did yesterday when it was grey and drizzly.

The last shot shows the famous Red Arrows, not a particularly good shot as it was taken on my phone but at least it shows that we were here as they went over, which they did several times - and all those playing Rounders stopped to watch, clap and wave as they passed overhead. Needless to say, I wasn’t playing Rounders!

Following that fantastic display, we then saw a Red Kite, circling overhead - from one extreme to the other - and both wonderful in their own way!

All in all a great weekend – the children were especially well behaved - and I must add special thanks to Nick and Celia for all their hard work in the planning and organisation of the weekend – and to everyone who came. It was just a shame that the sun was only out on our first and last days but, being British, we coped with all that the weather threw at us.

Hope you all have a great week – many thanks for all your comments, hearts, stars and encouragements over the last few days.  M xx
