Plum mysterious

The new plum tree hasn’t produced any fruit this year, after all its blossom was blown away.

The old plum tree, sadly, is in pieces waiting to be burned.

So I was puzzled to find this in the garden.

The only explanation I can think of is that maybe a bird picked it from next door’s tree and then dropped it.
