Doglets
My friend Ben and his husband German (Puerto Rican so pronounced Herman) came to stay with their pair of 6 month old Yorkie pups who were hilarious. They had been to a small London park but never the country and they raced around the garden like demented mechanical toys.
In the morning the huge magnolia flower opened and the perfume was intense. I’ve put a picture of it in extras. I have the dregs of Frederic Malle’s Eau de Magnolia and compared it with the scent from the flower. It is remarkably close. A lemony delicate smell with something else mixed in, almost salty.
I went over to Mum’s with some things I’d bought for her from M&S and had coffee with her and Patti. Whizzed back via Waitrose and Durleigh Marsh picking up strawberries.
We had chicken and salads and strawberries and tangy strawberry and buttermilk ice cream.
