Lavandula augustifolia/English Lavender?

My inspiration is drying up so I may take the odd break over the next weeks!

I am not sure whether this is Lavandula  augustifolia, it is very prolific and has very long stems and  apparently is one of the species used for making essential oil.  The scent is certainly very strong when a flowerhead is crushed.  I bought it for a few pence as a tiny seedling half dead from a supermarket years ago and it  has survived well over the years.  There is a lot of folklore about the plant over the ages to be found on the internet.  First brought to this country by the Romans who used it in their bathhouses.  They discovered it in ancient Arabia. Small white butterflies love it and it is still popular for sachets, perfumes, essential oils and culinary purposes.
