Hot in the woods….

where there was not a breath of air, but some good sightings of the heather, just coming out. Was heading up to the Archer’s memorial, erected to remember Iain beag Mac Anndra, or wee John Anderson in English, who defended the area against the ravages of cattle thieves. The trees were full of mixed flocks of Tits, Great, Coal and Crested, the latter identified by their trill. Crossbills were much in evidence too. Chanterelles and Blaeberries were everywhere.
