Common Yarrow

Shell Bay wood was still and quiet this morning. There were no other cars in the car park when I arrived, and we only met a few people at the end of our walk.
It was so quiet that the least sound seemed to stand out. My footsteps seemed really noisy. I saw a red squirrel scurry up a tree, then heard and saw the Great Spotted Woodpecker. First time for ages, so it was a real treat. Just as we were leaving the wood, and a family was walking towards us, an adult Roe deer leaped across the path between us. It was great to see the surprise on the faces of the children.
Did some weeding and tidying in the garden when we got home. Gary is coming tomorrow to help with several jobs. I’m relieved at the very idea of getting some help.
Met Wendy for a cuppa in The Cocoa Tree. It’s been months since we met up so we chatted non-stop catching up with each other’s news.
