Berberis flower.

An anomaly.!  A few days ago I noticed a female Blackbird jumping up and picking berries off the Berberis.  Back in April the bush was covered in these orange flowers.  So the question is why are there 6 or 7 bunches of flowers on the bush now.  You would think that a bush that had set fruit had no need for berries.

Just for my own reminder.  This year we have had no House Martins visiting our nest boxes.  Today quite out of the blue this morning four were swirling around and occasionally stopping on one of the boxes.  The current theory is they were this years fledglings just zooming round and learning the environment.
