Great White Egret
Another trip to Saltholme RSPB reserve, with more than 50 species spotted. The list included two lifers: a white-fronted goose and a spotted redshank as well as only my second sighting of a bittern. Sadly, all of these were too distant for a decent photo. This white egret was a little more considerate and the slightly hidden little egret, standing nearby, gives a good illustration of the relative sizes of the two species.
