Great egret

I needed to get away from cleaning and cooking and the gym for a day so we headed up to Montezuma. Got there later than we should have as usual so it was pretty hot already by 11. (It would have haloed to not have stopped in Skaneatles at the Patisserie... but...) So still have not found the bittern or the rails that people keep posting, but there were quite a few herons and a goodly number of great egrets and wood ducks as well. We did also find 2 sandhill cranes in extras , a snapping turtle and painted turtle. Not a bad day , novelly varied though the fall migration shorebirds should be showing up in August.
