PRETTY YELLOW FLOWER

This is a Birdsfoot Trefoil (Lotus corniculatus).....common plant in Eurasia and North Africa.  Pretty sure it found its way to North America with European immigrants who brought it over for use as animal fodder.  Unlike alfalfa, this plant is non-bloating, which is a good thing.

Not sure it can be called "invasive" as it was intentionally introduced, but it has escaped the cultivation practice and is now found basically all over...except in the dry west.  But I think it's rather pretty and enhances the beauty of the summer roadways, where it's especially abundant.

BEST IN LARGE.
