Sweet Sixteen

We sang "Happy Birthday" to my eldest daughter yesterday, 5th July. I always remember the date as 'the day after Independence Day', even though I am not from the U.S.A....it helps my memory work!

Lauren enjoyed a lazy day, relaxing after being at a friend's party the previous night and getting picked up by me in the early hours. It was the latest I ever remember collecting her from anywhere and consequently she stayed in bed late too. Her sister couldn't believe that she could sleep in for so long..."on her birthday too!"

This cake was made by said little sister, it was very rich, but light, and was topped with the best Swiss milk chocolate! It was greatly appreciated by all who eat it.
