Sgwarnog: In the Field

Whitethroat

I have the week off so I was able to have a more extended walk on the moor on another overcast but mainly dry day.

I met this Whitethroat coming back down, flitting from saplings to perch on the bracken and back. A pair of Stonechat were nearby.

Again, it was not the best weather for butterflies - I mostly saw Ringlets in threes and fours, scattered across the moor, plus the odd Small Heath, Large Skipper and Large White.

Apologies for an image focused more on the bracken than the bird, but I don’t see Whitethroats often, so it’s still a nice record shot for me.
