View of Silvretta Glacier

The morning was cloudy with the mountains tops covered in low clouds. We went out for a walk straight after breakfast as Gavin had meetings later in the morning, and he needed to be back in time for them. We did a walk from the chalet apartment that seems to go straight up, it was pretty steep until you reach the level above the tree line and then it descends from there. An extra of Xena at that higher level on the walk this morning. We came across a herd of cows and of course they chased Xena down the track. I find Swiss cows a bit scary as we have had a few experiences with them when the entire herd chases us. Xena walks off lead so luckily she could just run ahead of them but they just kept following her...luckily they eventually gave up.

It soon became very sunny and warm, and after lunch we went for another walk when I took this photo looking at Silvretta Glacier (which we have climbed up to a few times). It was a perfect day in the bright sunshine. After our walk we went for iced coffees at the cafe in the village, before walking home again and then Gavin and some more meetings. We were hoping to play golf today but the course was busy and when it was free, Gavin was busy working.

I saw the most exquisite Swallowtail butterfly today, unfortunately I did not have my camera with me. It was enormous! I usually have good sightings of butterflies here, and while I have seen many they are not as abundant as in previous years.
