The good life

This morning I took the art group to the Sabanci museum where the kids looked at the Turkish artists exhibition (extra), did some sketching, visited the gift shop and had a cake and a drink in the cafe - so a good morning! Today's main photo was taken from the balcony, and I liked it in mono.

This afternoon I visited colleage friend Çiğdem for a couple of hours, as I always do when in Istanbul. She lives nearby but the walk is tough because it's both up and down steep hills so it's a work out in both directions - especially in this heat. It was lovely to see her and catch up on a year's news. We had a lot to talk about, Rufus, my villa and all about her Instagram account 'Ikinci hayat' (second life) where this beautiful and extraordinary woman posts about her life since her Kenyan safari horse riding accident 3 years ago.  She now has 10.5k followers, so clearly I'm not the only one who likes her courage, resilience and love of life.
