Little Assynt

We set out for Lochinver this morning.

As soon as we set out in the car we were stopped by the shepherds and dogs herding 300 sheep back towards the peninsula.  It's fascinating to watch the dogs at work.

We headed first to a walk laid out at Little Assynt.  We enjoyed seeing a couple of frogs, an abandoned township, waterlilies in a loch, and lots of different flowers and plants.

We had lunch in Lochinver then bought pies to take home for dinner as well as having a look round some of the quirky little shops.

After lunch we walked up to the waterfall at Clashnessie, which we'd never been to but someone recommended.  It's rather fun as you have to cross the burn on stepping stones to get up there.

After enjoying our pies (Chicken & Ham for CyclopsJnr, Chicken with Sage Stuffing for Cyclops) we had a whole chapter of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at bedtime!
