Suez Canal

The name of this laneway in The Rocks is supposedly a play on “sewers” - it was an unsavoury place in the early 1800s.

A day of small delights: the sighting of an eastern great egret on my morning walk; an exhibition of 100 years of cartoons, caricatures and comics at the State Library; a stroll through the Botanic Gardens where I finally noticed the echidna living sculpture; across the deserted forecourt of the Opera House (no cruise ships in port); through a few laneways; to the Lord Nelson, uncrowded post-lunch.

Thanks for hosting BobsBlips.
