Wasp?

I think this is a type of wasp, I actually photographed it on our double glazed window in June but just found it when I was tidying my Lightroom files today. Maybe someone with knowledge of these things can put me right?
I have a list of outdoor jobs but it’s been such a grey damp day I spent all of it at my computer.
