A time for everything

Dunham Massey

Tuesday
We had a good, quite smooth flight, and I managed to get a couple of hours sleep. We arrived in Manchester to warm dry and partly sunny weather a rare occurrence! However, the travel gremlins weren’t done with us yet, as Roger’s suitcase arrived, but mine didn’t! In all the flying we’ve done over the years, we’ve rarely had problems with delayed luggage, but this is the second year running, since the same happened when we flew to Norway last year - and that was my case too! Having filled out the claim information, it was off to pick up the rental car, then drive to Roger’s Dad’s house. Roger’s sister Janet and her husband John, who are Bernard’s chief care givers, are on a much deserved holiday in Ireland, so we are covering this week, and Roger’s nephew Matthew will be covering some of next week, as we shall be in Spain next week. Having had a cup of coffee with Bernard, we took our things down the road to Janet’s house where we are sleeping. I had a nap for a couple of hours, then in the afternoon, the three of us went to Dunham Massey, a beautiful National Trust house, gardens and deer park, only about 20 minutes away. We didn’t have too much time, so we only did the gardens, rather than the deer park as well, but quite a number of deer were gathered in the area round the house, so we still got to see some.
