Grumpy

Them not me!

I've been asleep by about 8.30pm for the last two nights which has the benefit of being wide awake at just before 6. Yesterday, I poked my head out of the roof of Beryl to blue sky and sunshine on Ingleborough. This morning, I peeped out to delicate mist which can only means one thing...

Cloud inversion!

I was up, out and here, on the summit, just before 8am.

On the way up, as yesterday, I met groups of army trainees. Today, they were less happy and it looked like boots and rucksacks were taking their toll. I overhead some amusing and unrecordable conversations about what they were doing there and how heavy their bags were as well as observing a fair bit of hobbling.

For an early start, it was mighty busy up there but you could see for miles and miles and the breeze was really light so I stayed on top for a while before heading back down past some spots we visited yesterday and my first violet ground beetle.

That just left packing up and home to sort out my photos from yesterday.
