Day 28 La Caridad to Ribadeo

Today is the feast of St James, patron Saint of Galicia which is I where now I am having crossed the river from Asturias via a 600m long bridge. It felt the second most uncomfortable thing on the Camino thus far. A slightly higher barrier between me and the drop would have helped.

Pretty much everything is closed with people getting ready to party. I ate early and having an early night - 8 hours sleep is not cutting it. I’m confident I will sleep through the inevitable fireworks.

All in all an easy relaxed day, the last flat one, relatively speaking, for a while.

26km, plus 4 to find something to eat, 406m ascent (didn’t notice) 2 pilgrims, one conversation.
