Just Arrived
This week-end we have some friends arriving in Hebden Bridge from the USA.
Their family name is Greenwood - which is a common name around these parts. Genealogy research did indicate that they were in fact linked to Heptonstall (a village above Hebden Bridge).
They travelled over in 1974 and were married in this chapel in Heptonstall (see extra).
Their current visit is to celebrate their Golden Wedding and they have a special visit planned to revisit the chapel.
Unfortunately it is undergoing extensive restoration and, whilst the interior is not too bad, the exterior has scaffolding all around it. I think this might be something of a disappointment for them, especially for a souvenir photograph :-(
I knew I had some without the scaffolding in my catalogue so I've had one mounted for them. I hope they like it.
