At the Tiptree Jam Factory

A visit to Tiptree in Essex for a conducted tour around the farm to se how strawberries are grown and harvested to be made into world famous jam.

The Wilkin family have been making jam from home grown fruits for over 100 years and now exports all over the world. The blip shows the staff picking the strawberries, now grown at an easy picking height, in polythene tunnels. 

we ended the tour with a cream tea including strawberry jam.
