Stationery
I love the back-to-school stationery sales.
I was reasonably restrained, but then I had to go past the aisle again for something I’d forgotten, and some things ‘fell’ into the trolley. Mr Pandammonium wondered yet again just how many felt tips one person needs.
I drove to Tesco in Panda Car. The usual route I take, which involves a road that prefers to sink into the parallel drainage ditch than to stay level, was absolutely terrifying. Panda Car is very high up compared to Henry, and the centre of gravity feels too high.
I have a maxim: the white van in front trundles; the white van behind drives up your backside. Worst white-van case: a white van in front and a white van behind.
I trundled along the subsiding road like the white van in front. Saying that, I had to trundle like the white van in front because there was a white van in front.
I went a different way back.
I made my return to running group this evening. Because I haven’t been for so long, I forgot the time had moved earlier, so where I thought I had ages to get ready, I only had a short time. I ended up driving to the meeting point – shameful. But I got to show off Panda Car to the others.
Top tip
If you don’t remember the difference between stationery and stationary, remember that the pen-and-paper version is spelt with an e for envelope: stationery.
I’m here to help.
