Thursday: Kings Cross

Well, following on from our transit blip yesterday we have arrived safely in Whitley Bay, but not without a little drama en route.

Flight, arrival, etc was all fine, as was catching our train to Newcastle this afternoon.  Unfortunately, it well went a bit awry when our train hit a person just as we left Stevenage station.  It took about two and a 1/2 hours for the undertaker and police to do the necessaries after which we had to head back to Stevenage and wait for a replacement train.  It was all very odd and some people were visibly upset.  

Bizarrely, our friend Andrew was affected by the consequences at Doncaster where his train was being held.  

We were originally meant to arrive in Newcastle around 6.30pm but finally got there around 11pm.  We’re now safely ensconced at my auntie’s.

I’m not quite sure what happened but will have a look at the Stevenage papers over the next few days.
