As I have a thing with my ears whereby I really dislike being in the same room as a hair dryer as it seems to make my eardrums resonate painfully I wouldn't describe the wingpiglet's tendency to flee the room when the coffee grinder is in operation as an overreaction. The addition of ear defenders allows him to remain in place, accompanying the grinding sounds with queries as to whether we can hear him. He still refers to either ear defenders or hands-placed-over-the-ears as "fastermats", for reasons unknown. Hopefully he'll keep calling them that until he's old enough to explain WHY.
