It was one of those mornings when I knew I’d feel better for a change of scenery.
I made a cheese and chutney sandwich and a flask of coffee and also packed crisps and flapjack.
I drove north then east. Passed a number of possible walking routes, stopped at Rheged and ended up at Dalemain for a gentle wander around the gardens.
The lilies were beautiful and there were lots of seats where I could just enjoy the flowers, peace and sunshine. Not many bees or butterflies around but I did see a red squirrel. Then I intended to walk along the track to Dacre but changed my mind after a short distance.
