Tasting menu at Nest
Today I met Wilma for our annual lunch, arranged before we knew Moyra was coming back from Canada so we’ll see each other again in Edinburgh soon.
I suggested Nest which did a lunchtime tasting menu. It was nice but not as good as when I’d there before. However we enjoyed our catch up.
The 6 courses were
A fluffy bread with 2 dips - tzatziki and a humus
One tiny ball of Pomme Dauphine and chive emulsion
Basil pannacotta
Torched trout, caviar, asparagus and beurre blanc
Spam, hash brown and fried egg! (The spam tasted of ham hock but made from prosciutto - not impressed)
Amaze and orange mousse, orange gel, kataifi pastry, sweet cecily
When I got back it was off to Carol’s for a glass of fizz with her, Ailie and Chris. What a lovely way to spend a Friday!
