Hope Cove
This was a beautiful day on the Devon coast and this little place was a great find. The photo is of one of three small beaches in Hope and you can see two RNLI lifeguards in red (one with a white hat) sitting in their chairs and watching the compact swimming area.
Getting there was a little tense: a combination of narrow lanes and visitors with little sense (it seemed) of how to slow for corners in case of opposing traffic with inadequate space to pass . . . but we survived intact – this time.
In the Extra, an inaccessible beach below us on the coastal path, shortly before we reached the excellent Beach House for an excellent lunch at Thurleston beach.
