Sniffer

My annexed stay in Europe ends here and today I make my way back to Dar es Salaam. I bade farewell to London as I boarded the Underground for Heathrow. The UK has treated me very well on this visit, and I am fond of the old place.

As I left Tide’s yesterday, he handed me a brownie that he’d been baking during the football. He advised that it was of the hashish variety and that it was a snack for my journey. I sampled it at Heathrow and it was so pungent that I thought it better to devour before security, lest I attract the attention of a sniffer dog. I sat in the check-in area munching away, and I was exceedingly and uncharacteristically calm and placid during the subsequent steps until boarding.
