St. Michael and All Angels Church, Wentnor

I came across this charming church building today by accident. Travelling home from a short break in Wales I was looking for another church and missed my turning. I am glad I did. A happy accident!

The church was originally built in the Norman period but saw later reconstruction and additions in the nineteenth century.  It has an impressive timber belcote and clocktower and is a grade ll listed building.

Regrettably the church was locked so unable to go in, I contented myself with a rummage around the outside and the pretty burial grounds.

I will return, there is much more to discover here, including a stunning village pub which looks very inviting.
