Time for a snack on Loweswater Fells

Overlooking the Vale of Lorton. Two more Wainwrights ticked off today, Fellbarrow and Low Fell, the two lowest of the North Western Fells.

Just to make us feel at home there was a bit of a shower around lunchtime otherwise the weather for our 5 days here was as good as we could have hoped for.

Of course, we had to call in at the Kirkstile Inn for a final pint of Loweswater Gold and bag of crisps to mark the end of our time in the Lakes.

Back in Keswick there were 6 of us for dinner as other friends of Adam and James’s came around. Raymond is a very accomplished guitarist while his wife, Adam and I were strummers. Nevertheless, we had a go at jamming various songs which all made for an entertaining evening.

We travel north to Glasgow tomorrow to help mark a family 40th birthday after a wonderful week in the lakes with Adam and Jane.
