DON'T MAKE 'EM LIKE THEY USED TO
Classic Chris-Crafts were docked at Grand Lake.
For the annual wooden boat show.
Here's a chance to see these glistening beauties up close.
The last wooden Chris-Crafts came off the assembly line in 1963,
They're not the kind of boat you'll see being pulled behind an SUV-
For a quick trip to the lake.
No, these babies love the water.
Gotta stay in the water.
None of this wet and dry business-
Causing that fine mahogany to expand and contract.
You won't find any gadgets aboard these boats.
You have 3 gears: forward, reverse and neutral.
For me, it's the sound.
The exhaust pipes sit at water level.
When the engine vibrates-
A deep throaty rumble is created.
As if amnouncing its unique presence,
To other boaters on the lake.
