Farewell
Last Art class this morning. The topic was Perspective. A brief teacher presentation of photos (including yesterday's Blip) and a quick and simple drawing exercise, followed by a group stroll around the main building (today's pic) and finally, some sketchbook time in the studio before setting up a small exhibition of their work for the Open House at 12.00 when along with certificate giving, family also see my presentation slide show of two weeks worth of photos of their kiddos learning and creating.
So that's it. Teaching over for this summer, back to Akbuk on Monday. I'm meeting Robin at Istanbul airport - she's flying in from Baku - and staying with me for ten days, and of course I'll be reunited with Rufus after his month staying at Sue's, so much to look forward to.
Which is good because it was a sad afternoon. I intended going to Ortakoy, but the 3pm bus didn't come - so instead I walked to the bakkal for a couple of beers and fresh peaches, and then walked home - where I found a cat outside the building clearly very ill and in great distress. A little milk and a lot of WhatsApp msgs, and kitty was identified and on her way to the vet with a kind neighbour, where sadly, an hour later, she passed away naturally. Poor baby. Another furry friend crossing the rainbow bridge tonight. In a way, I am glad that the bus didn't come, so that I went back home and found her. At least the course of action that followed made her final hours more comfortable than they would otherwise have been.
A quiet evening with Nohut on my lap whilst I worked my embroidery and watched a movie.
