Warwick Folk Festival
I’m having a great time at the festival. Yesterday evening l really enjoyed a band called the Unthanks comprising two sisters and their band. They had some very powerful and beautiful music.
Today we had a walk round Warwick first thing and a quick visit to the festival. My sister spotted a handmade poncho that she fell in love with so l bought it for her 70th birthday in a couple of months time. We returned home for lunch and then went back for some more music in the afternoon. My sister’s daughters arrived late afternoon and we had an enjoyable me. It’s great to see them as it has been sometime since we last met.
We headed for the festival in the evening where l took this shot of Oysterband who are on their last a farewell series of concerts. They were very professional but we couldn’t resist heading out to see the Bonfire Radicals where my nieces were. They were amazing, so inventive with their instruments and music. The main singer had a very beautiful voice although a lot of their music was instrumental. The instruments were speaking really. They even did a tribute song to Birmingham that was based on spaghetti junction. They were so much fun. They are described as a celebration of musical diversity.
We also found time for some dancing ie Ceilidh.
