Lady at Sea
With a sunny day expected, I took myself off to Polesden Lacy for the day to wander round the gardens in search of flowers for Flower Friday. I also took the sketch book hoping to see something to inspire me.
I eventually settled down in front of the house to sketch the newly restored clock tower and clock. I found I didn't really have the right equipment with me, having ditched some for lightness, so not entirely happy with the result, but practice makes perfect as they say.
I was far happier with the flower studies and found a good range of both wild and garden subjects - still very few butterflies and other insects though. This one of some sea holly was one of the last I took before heading home, complete with a ladybird enjoying its nectar.
