Life through the lens...

By ValC

Village Pond.

A warm summer’s day, although not much sunshine which is better for me.
After taking a parcel back to M&S.
(Returned an expensive Hobbs dress which wasn’t just right and MrC didn’t like me in it. )
Back to the drawing board for an outfit for our grandson's wedding.
We had a walk to the pond. Haven’t stretched our legs for a while.
The geese are still there. Fully grown now.
Also counted 11 female mallards and just one lonely moorhen.
No butterflies but plenty of bees.

Got back before we had a shower.
Fortunately we haven’t had the awful rain they have in Paris.
Such a shame it spoilt the opening ceremony last night.
I did find most of it rather tedious, but the last 15 minutes were fabulous. Especially the lighting of the flame and Celine Dion, on the Eiffel Tower, singing the Edith Piaf song,
L’ Hymme à l’amour.  Wonderful ending.

I have been watching some of the cycling time trials this afternoon.
Treacherous wet conditions.
Well done Anna Henderson with a silver medal.
Such a shame Joshus Tarling had a puncture, which meant he missed out on the medals. Came 4th. He must be gutted. May be could have come second or even won.

Hope the sun comes out for them tomorrow.
