Disappointed in Aberaeron
Sat in the pub in Aberaeron with my cycling mates this afternoon to watch the olympic cycling time trial this afternoon. We were there to cheer on our local hero, 20-year-old Josh Tarling, who was a strong favourite for a medal. He's a lovely lad who sometimes cycles with his dad and us. Sadly, he was the only competitor to suffer a mechanical (front wheel puncture) and the resulting bike change lost him valuable seconds. He was beaten into forth by 2 seconds. He probably lost 20-25 seconds denying him a probable silver medal. The whole town is in grieving.
Oh well, at least the young British girl, Anna Henderson, won a well deserved silver medal in the ladies time trial.
There's only one thing to do - blip a small tortoiseshell butterfly
