Dutch Skies

I'm back!

You will probably not have noticed, but I've been away for a while. After my dad passed away, I went back to work a week after the cremation. That was not a good idea. I just did not have any energy and when I got sick I guess it was my body telling me it was time to give up and hit the "pause" button. It was a simple cold, but I just could not get better.

I called in sick and (finally) started looking after myself. No energy for work and also blipping had to wait. Taking things one day at a time and stop whatever activity I was doing when my body told me so. It took me some time, but eventually my energy level increased and I felt I could look forward again. Still, many things have happened that require thought and some help to get to terms with. I'm working on that and I think that might take quite a bit of time. That's OK.

For now I'm glad I was able to resume work, have fun doing so and still have energy left at the end of the day. I've been building up my working hours until the end of this working week. Now I'm having summer vacation for three weeks and after that I will start working normal hours again. This feels good.

On Monday, our holiday on Vancouver Island will start. I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time with Martine, Nienke, Inge and Ellis, travelling around Vancouver Island and hopefully seeing a lot of wildlife.

As you can see, I now also have resumed blipping. I will probably leave this gap in my journal as a reminder of darker days. Now we're looking forward and I'm back! This photo of the Widde Meuln windmill as seen from our yard, is recognizable by some of you and will be the mark of a fresh start.
