The 8th country
It has been a hot day. When we left just after 8 it was already 20 degrees and it was rising to 30.
We keep driving left and right at a border. We drove out of Liechtenstein via Vaduz and a dike back to Switzerland. Later we had Austria on the other side of the Rhine. Nothing special really, because Belgium and Germany are also close to us, but now it's about Austria. That's something completely different.
The Rhine is the border between countries, but suddenly we were at the sign to Austria. The eighth country in our holiday. The route goes a very short distance through Austria. Time for coffee at an Austrian restaurant.
After coffee we soon cycle along Lake Constance. A very touristic area where people swim, stay healthy, play and cycle.
What other Switzerland have we ended up in? No wooden Heidi houses, no high mountains, no patches of snow here and there on the peaks. No, boiling hot, craving ice cream and a dip in Lake Constance.
But once we had pitched the tent on the overcrowded camping and saw the sunbathing crowd on the beach, I didn't feel like doing that. Luckily they have regular and clean showers.
