Petunia ‘Red Wave’
I’ve admired this petunia since I filled 6 pots with it in May. It’s so rich and velvety and provides a lovely contrast with the dark grey colour of the pots.
A useful garden day, watering pots and borders, deadheading in the rose beds and weeding. I acquired a white Eucomis from a friend’s garden and found the perfect place for it. This involved digging up and potting a magenta geranium psilostemnon (which I’d promised to someone), Geranium ‘Max Frei’, which is small and compact, was then put into its place, leaving a hole for the Eucomis next to a variegated Phlomis and a grouping of variegated agapanthus. It took a while but should work well. I think the garden must benefit from the time and effort spent fine tuning the planting schemes.
