Exmouth Beach

Today after another failed attempt to catch the Heron fishing and after walking the dogs in Mamhead woods and surviving the horsefly attack we decided to go to the beach as it was so hot!!

You can catch the ferry from Starcross to Exmouth beach - the car park at Starcross is only £1 which is a bargain.. The beach is mostly sand, however the River Ex runs into the sea here so the current is very strong and despite swimming you end up being dragged backwards I decided just to paddle but it was enough to cool me down..
From the beach you can watch the boats coming in and out of the river as the channel is very close to the beach, beyond the channel are sandbanks so it is quite a difficult navigation to get in and out of the river safely..
It was in the 30's again today so suncream and hats were the order of the day but it was lovely the relax and soak up the heat.. it felt like I was in the mediterranean..
Still have very little access to internet and it is incredibly slow.. tomorrow I am off to London and then home for Monday.. i will catch up with commenting then.. thanks for dropping by..
