Briar

A rose by any other name would sound as tweet.

This wild rose (briar or dog rose) was host to a European goldfinch, Carduelis carduelis.


From its behaviour, it was loudly singing, I am assuming it was a male as otherwise the plumage is the same for both sexes.



It flew off straight after this capture because a dog-walker approaced along the track I was on.
