A selection of John’s cards - I couldn’t believe it when I found the greyhound card on Etsy - it could be our two beloved girls.
David and Anisha are headed back down south now - it was great to have them here as a distraction, even if I was hobbling around like nobody’s business with a bad back - it’s slightly better today, so I’m pleased it’s going in the right direction - no idea how I did it but sometimes it’s just a case of turning around too quickly and the damage is done.
I’m sure you’re sick of the Plymouth saga but it helps me to record it. My mum had terrible delirium on Wednesday and Thursday, she was very aggressive and could not be calmed - horrible situation, my stepdad had to sit up all night with her in the nursing home, which I’m pretty cross about - he’s 80 and it seems like the staff had never encountered delirium before, which I find unbelievable. I do understand though that it must have been shocking for everyone, especially my stepdad, he knows she’s ill but even so it was extremely upsetting for him. She did end up in hospital in the middle of the night on Thursday although we didn’t know until Friday lunchtime - she’s still there and I can’t get any information at all with it being a weekend. She previously had a social worker and a place in a nursing home, which just three days ago the social worker told me remained absolutely essential. That place is now gone as she has been in hospital for more than 48 hours and the social worker is also no longer involved, the whole process needs to start again. My stepdad is saying he can’t cope if she comes home again, which I agree with, she has bounced in an out of hospital now for 2 and a half months, even ending up back there from a nursing facility but my experience is that the hospital is under such pressure for beds that they will discharge her home anyway. I’ve left messages and instructions that I must be consulted about discharge, not my stepdad as he is completely exhausted and has admitted to me that he will just agree to whatever they say in the moment. So here we go again!
