Cairo teaching memories

I was browsing a friend’s Insta posts today and I saw a photo of him with this actor. He’d actually been in my class and until the other students told me I had no clue I was teaching someone famous. Or maybe not. I asked an Egyptian friend today who he was and he had to ask his girlfriend.
Second week of some teaching, some tests. One of my students in China was grumbling about his neighbours who were being too noisy while renovating so he paid them to stop! That prompted a conversation about making sure he had a strategy for the upcoming tests. I’m not sure if I mentioned he’s done some amazing caricatures of his fellow students. They captured people beautifully.
A teacher’s meeting, then a meeting with my manager for induction week for me for the next class. A much needed walk as my back is stiff and sore, lesson planning and bed.
