Botanical gardens Glasgow

Is it botanic or botanical gardens?

At last we have made it, and as much as I enjoyed the glass houses, very warm today, it was wonderful to see patches of wild flowers, sweet peas, vegetables all thriving in the warm sunshine. A busy place today with a lively atmosphere.  I tried to book tickets for a play last night but had dithered too long, all tickets sold, the play was performed inside a smaller area of this huge greenhouse, I blipped the outside a few days ago.

Before heading to the gardens it was time for another treat, breakfast at Williams. We had a good lunch here on Friday, this morning an excellent breakfast and decaf coffee. A small cafe with great people working there, highly recommend it.

For my memory:
The third and last extras feel special to us. When in Australia my cousin suggested we visit a house owned by May Gibbs, the author of children’s books some of which use this species of plant - her books imagined the seed and fruit heads came to life as little characters. The link - Cousin Jane’s husband had an uncle who was the architect of the wonderful house May had built on the banks of the river opposite Sidney.  She lived there when the bridge was built, we could see it clearly from her garden. Fortunately the house is cared for now and restored to its original character, the group must be similar to our national trust.
